Recycle these items:
• clean plastic bottles, jugs, jars, tubs, lids
• aluminum and steel food and beverage cans
• glass bottles and jars
• corrugated cardboard
• mixed paper (junk mail, copy/fax paper, newspapers, paper bags,
tissue/cereal boxes, etc.).

Home Composting
Home composting can significantly reduce waste while creating a finished compost that has

Reuse & Repair
Household items that are still in good, usable condition can be donated to local reuse 
organizations listed on the UCRRA’s Reuse & Resource Directory linked here:

be eligible for repair at a free Repair Café event or through a local business listed on UCRRA’s

Hazardous Waste
Wastes and chemicals that are potentially toxic, flammable, caustic, or chemically reactive 
are considered Household Hazardous Waste (HHW) and should never be thrown into the 
trash. The UCRRA offers free safe disposal events throughout the year, open to all Ulster
