Community Preservation Fund Advisory Board
Welcome to the Town site for information on the Community Preservation Plan and Community Preservation Fund. In November of 2022 “Local Law 6: Water Quality, Working Farms, Wildlife Habitat and Natural Areas Preservation Fund”, a law to protect clean water, local farms, rail trails, and natural resources in Marbletown, was voted into law allowing a Real Estate Transfer Tax to be implemented and used exclusively for the Fund. The tax was set at 1% with a exemption of the median cost of a home in Ulster County as determined by the State annually. The one-time tax only applies to new purchases of property, not existent properties.
The Community Preservation Fund Advisory Board appointed by the Town Board evaluates potential projects based on the Community Preservation Plan and makes recommendations for the use of the Preservation Fund to the Town Board.
