The Town Board is the Town of Marbletown’s primary governing body. It is responsible for setting policy, safeguarding public funds, and ensuring that town services and operations run efficiently, legally, and in the best interest of residents.
Major Responsibilities
- Fiscal oversight: Manages the town’s finances, including special districts and long-term capital projects
- Budget approval: Reviews and adopts the annual town budget
- Financial authorization: Approves all town expenditures and contracts
- Local legislation: Adopts local laws, resolutions, and ordinances
- Appointments: Appoints non-elected department heads and members of town boards, commissions, and committees
